Start-stop on a Jeep
Recent Jeep models with start-stop need an EFB or AGM battery. We match the technology your car was built with, because a conventional battery will not last in a start-stop system.
Start-Stop Battery ReplacementJeep batteries · Yas Island, Abu Dhabi
Two things make Jeep batteries different from the car next to them in a Yas Island car park. Wrangler and Gladiator models with start-stop carry a main AGM battery plus a small auxiliary one, and the Grand Cherokee hides its battery under the front passenger seat. Sizes are European-style H6 or H7 cases in most recent models.

Choose your Jeep model for battery guidance specific to that car.

On Wrangler JL and Gladiator models with start-stop, a small auxiliary battery sits tucked beside the main one, and a fault in either can stop the car starting.
Grand Cherokee batteries from 2011 onwards are typically under the front passenger seat, with jump posts under the bonnet.
Most recent Jeeps have an intelligent battery sensor on the negative terminal that tracks state of charge.
Winches, light bars and fridges fitted for desert trips add load, so we check for accessory drain during testing.

Wranglers with engine start-stop use a main battery for cranking and a small auxiliary battery that keeps the electronics alive during restarts. The two are linked, so one failing can drain the other. We test them separately and tell you which one actually needs replacing.
Yes, we can. The battery is under the front passenger seat, so we slide the seat, lift the floor cover and work from inside the cabin. It needs normal door-opening space beside the car. The vent tube is refitted so the battery breathes outside the cabin.
On recent Jeeps with a battery sensor, a reset or relearn is recommended so the charging system treats the battery as new. Many models relearn by themselves over a few drives, and where the car supports it we do the reset with a scan tool.
Send your location, car make, model and year, plus a short description of the problem. We check battery availability and confirm the next steps.
