Signs your Forthing Thunder battery needs attention

Engine turns over slowly, especially after the car has been parked in the heat
Battery or charging warning on the dashboard
Start-stop no longer switches the engine off
Clicking sound and no start
Electrical glitches: clock resets, dim lights, slow windows

SUV / 4x4

SUVs like the Forthing Thunder usually carry a larger-capacity battery than a small car, to turn over a bigger engine and run more electrical equipment. Rear air conditioning, powered tailgates and accessories all add load in summer.

EFB or AGM (start-stop)

Recent Forthing Thunder model years are likely to have start-stop or energy recovery, so they generally take an EFB or AGM battery. We confirm from the existing battery label.

What to know about Dongfeng batteries

Electric and plug-in hybrid versions rely on a small 12V battery, which on some models is lithium instead of lead-acid.
Screens, cameras and connected services keep drawing a little current after the car is locked.

FAQ

Dongfeng Forthing Thunder battery questions

Short, direct answers. Message us if yours is not here.

Which battery does the Dongfeng Forthing Thunder take?

It depends on the model year and engine. Send both, ideally with a photo of the current battery label, and we confirm the correct size, terminal layout and technology before bringing it.

Can you replace a Dongfeng Forthing Thunder battery at my home on Yas Island?

Yes. We fit Forthing Thunder batteries at accessible homes, apartment parking and hotel or mall car parks on Yas Island. Send your location pin and parking details so we can confirm the visit.

How long does a Dongfeng Forthing Thunder battery last in Abu Dhabi?

Heat shortens battery life, so batteries here often need replacing sooner than the three to five years typical elsewhere. Short trips and long periods parked shorten it further. A yearly test tells you where yours stands.

My electric Dongfeng is charged but will not switch on. Why?

The 12V battery is the usual cause. An electric or plug-in Dongfeng needs it to start the computers and connect the drive battery, so a flat one leaves the car dead. We power the 12V side, wake the car and test that battery on site.
