Start-stop on a Dacia
Recent Dacia models with start-stop need an EFB or AGM battery. We match the technology your car was built with, because a conventional battery will not last in a start-stop system.

The electronics on a Dacia like to be shut down properly. Before disconnecting the battery, the ignition is switched off and the car is given a few minutes to go to sleep. We follow that sequence, keep the memory powered, and reset the one-touch windows once the new battery is connected.

Battery brands
These brands make the sizes and technology Dacia models commonly use.
Dacia models use European DIN-size batteries, and start-stop versions are fitted with EFB or AGM.
Many French cars have a charge monitoring unit on the negative terminal that must be refitted carefully.
Some older radios ask for a security code if power is lost, which a memory saver prevents.

FAQ
Short, direct answers. Message us if yours is not here.
If your Dacia has start-stop, it needs whichever of the two it left the factory with, and the label on the battery tells us. Cars without start-stop take a maintenance-free calcium battery. We do not downgrade the technology, because it shortens battery life.
Not when it is done in the right order. On a Dacia we switch off, wait for the control units to sleep, keep a backup supply connected and then swap the battery. Afterwards we reinitialise the windows and check the dashboard for warnings.
Most Dacia models do not need a registration step. The car relearns the battery's state over the first few drives, and start-stop returns once it is satisfied with the charge level. Where a model does require a reset, we carry it out on site.
Send your location, car make, model and year, plus a short description of the problem. We check battery availability and confirm the next steps.
